Dr. Cathleen London Talks About The Benefits of Lycopene on San Diego Living

Dr. Cathleen London addressed one of America’s sunniest cities about skin health on XETV’s “San Diego Living”.

“Tomatoes, particularly if it is tomato paste or tomato products, have a complex that includes lycopene, phytofluene and phytoene. That protects your skin from the inside out,” Dr. London said.

Lyc-O-Mato is an all-natural tomato extract that contains the lycopene, phytofluene and phytopene of which Dr. London spoke. In a clinical study, Lyc-O-Mato was shown to offer protection against photo damage from UV rays. Pure lycopene has not been tested as a single agent in human prevention studies.

However, Dr. London notes that this is not an overnight solution. “It takes up to 12 weeks to get you to a good amount.”
