Sherry Torkos on Lyc-O-Mato
No matter if you live in a place where it’s always sunny, or where there are only a few warm months, there is always a concern about protecting your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Pharmacist and Author Sherry Torkos said on CTV’s Good Morning Canada that lycopene is one of the keys to maintaining optimal skin health.
“There is a lot of evidence to show consuming higher amounts of lycopene through tomatoes, tomato products and supplements can actually increase your protection from the sun,” said Torkos.
Torkos noted that Lyc-O-Mato is more than a suitable substitute for tomatoes. It’s easy to take and contains the same amount of lycopene as five vine-ripened tomatoes. “What’s unique about it is that contains lycopene along with the other nutrients that are naturally present in tomatoes, without the sugar and the water.”
Torkos also states that studies have shown that Lyc-O-Mato may help prevent the development and growth of prostate cancer and it may help lower blood pressure.
Torkos received her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1992. She has authored 14 books and booklets including, The Canadian Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine, The Glycemic Index Made Simple, Winning at Weight Loss and Breaking the Age Barrier.
